In the wake of the BP oil spill, our own Eveline Shen has a piece in AlterNet about the impact of workplace environmental hazards on workers, families and communities. Shen and her co-author Jose T. Bravo note that even the President's Cancer Panel agrees that "carcinogens in the workplace are hastening illness and death for many, especially those with the lowest wages and the fewest choices."
